Bridging the digital divide, one computer at a time.
Computers For All
“REsponsibility and action are the pillars of global citizenship.”
– Lucas Hong, Founder
Computers For All (CFA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide by refurbishing and donating computers to charities and public institutions. Our mission is to provide access to technology for everyone, with a special focus on empowering new generations. We believe that technological literacy is a key tool for education and a fundamental skill in the modern world.
As a student-led organization, CFA gathers old, used computer parts from donations and mass sales. Our team refurbishes these components to create functional computers, which are then donated to those in need. Through our efforts, we strive to provide everyone with the opportunity to benefit from the transformative power of technology.
brazil: the digital divide
In Brazil, while a significant portion of the urban population has internet access, there is a noticeable lack of technological integration in primary and secondary schools. Only 58% of schools in Brazil grant computer and internet access to students. This access is significantly limited in state schools, due to the small number of access points (computers, laptops etc.) present. In addition, 84% of students do not have access to internet connectivity or access points at home, emphasizing the need for providing such devices in public spaces, so they may reach a larger population.
our mission
Our mission at Computers for All is to provide access to technology through the refurbishment and donation of computers. We believe that technology is a vital tool for education and skill development. By reusing donated materials, we promote sustainability while empowering individuals and communities to achieve their full potential.
